Reversing the Negative Effects of Redlining

Supermarket Redlining is a term used to describe a phenomenon when major chain supermarkets were disinclined to open stores or keep stores open in Redlined Areas. The absence of chain supermarkets created food desserts and food insecurities in these areas.

The Eat to Live Pop-up Food Clinic is a transformative initiative designed to promote health and wellness within the community it serves. The program addresses the pressing community needs and challenges related to nutrition, health education, and access to fresh, affordable produce. Through a series of one-day events throughout the city, the program goes beyond a traditional cooking demonstration. Eat to Live Pop-up Clinic aims to provide comprehensive education on the benefits of consuming fruits and vegetables in season, focusing on those culturally appropriate to support health and wellness.
